Samsun Metropolitan Municipality turkish bath and swimming pool is located in İlkadım district. 
The land at the intersection of 100. Yıl Boulevard and Dadaloğlu Street is adjacent to the Unkapanı cemetery in the 
north and west. 
The building consists of 3 floors: ground floor, 1st floor and basement. The ground floor is 1054m² and there is an 
entrance lobby, cafe, changing rooms and pool on this floor. On the first floor, there is the hot section of the
bath, the warm and relaxation area of ​​the bath, sauna, steam room and massage rooms. The basement consists of 
closed parking and technical spaces. A secondary shell facade is designed in the direction of the street in the 
building. While this shell defines a semi-closed garden at the entrance of the building, the blocks in the form of 
modular motifs that form the shell make shadows and reflections in the garden, cafe and lobby. 
Glass fiber reinforced precast modular blocks designed, modeled and produced specifically for the project allow 
a continuous flow on the facade. Travertine coating was preferred on the other facades of the building. 
Marmara marble was used in the interior of the bath. Thanks to the high sulfur minerals they contain, 
Marmara marbles are generally preferred in environments such as baths that require hygiene. Marmara marbles that
prevent growth of bacteria in baths with collective usage areas; They were widely used in many Ottoman baths in 
history.  In the warmth section of the bath, architectural details related to the lighting were cared, daylight 
and natural lighting were provided by roof lanterns. These lanterns can be considered as a modern interpretation 
of the light domes in traditional Ottoman baths. 
In the swimming pool, the roof lights let in the daylight and at the same time, this place is designed at double 
height. The relaxation area, massage-sauna and steam rooms at this level open to the pool. Heat treated wood panels 
to regulate acoustics are used on the pool walls and ceiling.
